Are you looking for an extracurricular club that is pure fun and filled with adventure for your child? This is the program for you! Introducing our NEW ADVENTURE CLUB for children ages 6-12! Adventure Club is a nature-based recreation club for children ages 6–12, packed with hands-on fun and real-world outdoor adventure. Each session invites kids to explore the outdoors through hiking, canoeing, fishing, biking/scootering,  cooking over a fire, woodworking, and more. It’s a club to build confidence, make friends, ditch the screens, and create unforgettable outdoor memories—rain or shine!

 

 

WHEN:

This program will run:

-12-week session on Fridays this Spring

February 13th - May 8th

Morning Meetups: 10:00 am - 12:30 pm

Afternoon Meetups: 3:15 pm-5:45 pm

*No Meetups on the following dates:

April 10th (Closed for Spring Break)

WHERE:

Meetups will be in different locations near and around Provo (within a 15 mile radius), like a different park, harbor, or hiking trailhead, depending on the planned activity. Parents will need to plan on dropping off and picking up at the specified location for that specific meetup.

 

Some Meetups will take place at the Provo Campground located:

WILDERNESS EXPLORERS VS ADVENTURE CLUB:

Adventure Club is not the same as our Wilderness Explorers Program.  Our Wilderness Explorers program follows our in-house curriculum, and students get exposed to Literacy, Cultures, Music, Science, Art & Math, as well as beginning survival skills.  Adventure Club can stand alone or can be an add-on to our other programs and is purely a recreation club where kids can come, let loose, get exercise, get out of their comfort zones a bit, and adventure outside!

​SPRING SESSION CLUB ACTIVITY LINEUP:

• 1 Sledding/Ice Blocking Meetup (Provo)

• 2-3 Utah Lake Meetups (Beach, Ice Shoves, Potential Ice Fishing Activity) (Provo)

• 1 Hiking Meetups  (Battle Creek Falls) ( Pleasant Grove)

• 1 Biking Meetup ( Bridal Veil Falls) (Provo)

• *Optional opportunity for 1-2 indoor snowboarding experiences  at Shredders on a Thursday in February for club members only (Midvale) (additional $5)

• 1-2 Fishing Meetups (Provo)

• 1 Provo River Delta Park Meetup (Provo)

• 1 Indoor Rock Climbing Meetup (Provo)

• 1 Campfire Cooking Meetup (Provo)

• 1 Clints Reptiles Meetup (Springville)

• 1 Woodworking Meetup at Provo Campground (Provo)

WHAT TO WEAR:

Please plan to wear appropriate footwear for the planned meetup, appropriate clothing, and layers,  and bring a pack with a substantial snack and plenty of water to each meetup!  Everything else will be provided!

PLEASE NOTE:

*Some of these meetups may be subject to change

*Depending on enrollment,  the club may be divided into two age groups

(6-8) and (9-12)

*if divided, these groups will still do all adventure meetups together.

PARENT PARTICIPATION:

Parents are welcome to participate in the meetups, but participation is not required.  There may be certain meetups where a few parent volunteers will be appreciated here and there 

throughout the session!
